Teamcenter Share

Teamcenter Share is a collaboration platform that you can access directly within the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ workspace as well as in a web browser. Teamcenter Share allows you to upload and share simulation files and related data, such as Viewer (.sce) files. Through the integration within Simcenter STAR-CCM+, you can download and open files from this platform.

If your organization has a share license, Teamcenter Share is automatically enabled for Simcenter STAR-CCM+. If you do not yet have a share license, contact your Siemens Digital Industries Software account manager for details on how to obtain one.
These instructions explain the specific use of Teamcenter Share with Simcenter STAR-CCM+. For general info about the Teamcenter Share user interface, hover over individual objects with the mouse pointer, or activate the "Take a Tour" feature.
  1. In the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ workspace, select Cloud > Teamcenter Share.
  2. Log in to Teamcenter Share.
  3. To upload files:
    1. Click Upload to Home Folder, or navigate to a project on Teamcenter Share and click the Upload button.
    2. Select one or more files to upload.
The upload progress is displayed directly in Teamcenter Share, for each individual file as well as the overall progress.
  4. To download files:
    1. In the Teamcenter Share UI, select one or more files to download (using the checkbox to the left of each file).
    2. Click Download.
    3. Select the folder where you want the files to be placed. Initially, the .zip file is downloaded into this folder. After the download finishes all the individual files are unzipped into this folder.
The progress of the .zip download (transfer rate and total transferred bytes) is displayed in the Teamcenter Share Downloads window in the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ workspace. There can be multiple downloads in progress. Each download can be paused, resumed, or canceled.
  5. To work with downloaded files:
    • If you have downloaded a simulation file, choose one of two options in the Teamcenter Share Downloads window: Open Simulation or Copy Path. Clicking Open Simulation activates the standard Load a File dialog.
    • For other file types, you can use the Copy Path option to access the downloaded file from anywhere on your local drive. For example, when you execute the File > Import > Import Surface Mesh action in Simcenter STAR-CCM+, pasting the absolute path of a downloaded geometry file into the File Name text box of the Open dialog results in Simcenter STAR-CCM+ accessing that file.
