Welcome!
Here you find all information about our Computational Aided Engineering (CAE) software
Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
Simcenter STAR-CCM+ Software is a Computational Aided Engineering (CAE) solution for solving multidisciplinary problems in both fluid and solid continuum mechanics, within a single integrated user interface.

After installing Simcenter STAR-CCM+, you can access documentation and tutorials on the Support Center or within the installation.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ provides a Graphical User Interface generally known as the client workspace. This interface appears when you launch Simcenter STAR-CCM+ interactively.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ uses a client-server architecture in which the simulation objects are created on the server and the client provides access to these objects for setup and display.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ solves physics problems on a computational mesh. To provide this mesh, you first define geometry using internal or external tools, and then create a mesh pipeline whose operations generate the mesh in repeatable steps.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ can model a wide range of physics phenomena including fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, heat transfer, electromagnetism, and chemical reactions. Scenarios with multiple time scales can be solved within the same simulation.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ allows you to post-process the solution after each iteration or time-step, (while the simulation is running), as well as when the simulation completes. For this reason, you generally create post-processing objects before running the simulation. Post-processing objects are also known as analysis objects.

Design Manager provides an automated approach within Simcenter STAR-CCM+ to run design exploration studies. Design exploration covers both performance assessment and optimization.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ can interact with a wide range of other computer-aided engineering (CAE) software. This interaction includes import/export of mesh and solution data as well as coupling capabilities for multiphysics simulations.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ comes with add-ons that provide a dedicated approach for simulations of specific engineering applications—the Electronics Cooling Toolset and the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder Solution.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ simulations are built on numerical algorithms that solve relevant laws of physics according to the conditions that the simulation defines. So that you can identify the physical laws, and understand the methods by which they are solved, Simcenter STAR-CCM+ comes with a Theory Guide.

Tutorials show you how to use Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for various applications in a step-by-step format with recommendations for setup, initialization and steps of the solution process specific to the application. Macro and simulation files are available for download for a large proportion of cases.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ Viewer is a light-weight, license-free standalone scene and plot viewer for Simcenter STAR-CCM+.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ Virtual Reality Client allows you to explore Simcenter STAR-CCM+ simulation solutions in a virtual reality environment. You can stand inside a solution and examine how flow, energy, and other quantities interact with the digital prototype.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ exposes many field functions in its simulations. These functions are generally activated as you select physics models for a continuum. Some are activated by solvers, and others only appear if you activate Retain Temporary Storage on the relevant node.
