Simulation Templates: HVAC Duct
In Simcenter STAR-CCM+, simulation templates define a starting point for simulations with similar physics. A simulation template can include a variety of predefined objects, such as predefined simulation operations, mesh operations, tags, filters, and parameters. Using a simulation template helps to automate and speed up the simulation preparation process.
In this tutorial, you run a study from a template designed to investigate the aerodynamic generation and propogation of sound within a HVAC duct.
Air at a constant density of 1.18415 kg/m^3 flows through the HVAC duct intake. Towards the end of the duct, three vanes, a flap, a clip, and an adjuster control the air flow before it enters the test chamber. This set up is not unique to any specific geometry, and by setting the conditions in a simulation template you can quickly import any HVAC duct geometry and adjust tags and parameters to the new geometry.
