Adding Custom Macros to the Toolbar

You can add toolbar buttons that instantly launch the macros of your choice.

To set up a toolbar button for a macro:
  1. Load a new or existing simulation.
  2. Select Window > Toolbars > Customize.
  3. In the Customize Toolbars dialog, expand the File > Macro node.
  4. Drag and drop one of the Play Favorite Macro icons next to existing icons on the toolbar of your choice.


    A new icon, marked with a yellow warning symbol, is added to the toolbar. The yellow warning symbol indicates that the icon definition is incomplete.
  5. To complete the icon definition, click the icon.
  6. In the Edit Favorite Macros dialog, enter the following information:


    • Macro -- the path to the .java file.
    • Icon -- the user-defined icon for the macro in the form of image file. Acceptable formats include .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .gif.
    • Tool Tip -- a short description about the task that the macro performs.
  7. Click OK.
    The icon for the macro is added to the toolbar. When you click it, the macro starts.
  8. To modify the button, do one of the following:
    • Right-click and select Edit.
    • Select File > Macro > Edit Favorites.
  9. To remove the button, open the Customize Toolbars dialog and drag the icon back into it.
