Tagging Simulation Objects
Tags are like graphical labels that you apply to objects in the simulation tree. You can then reference objects by tag when using filters.
Once a tag has been created, it can be applied to one or more objects to distinguish them from other objects. A filter can be created based on the tag. The filter can then be used to limit the objects that are available for selection in various dialogs and tools within Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
A colored circle, with a unique color assigned automatically by STAR-CCM+, represents the tag. An example of a tag that is applied to two different transforms is shown in the following screenshot:

Two of the transforms in this image have tags applied to them, as indicated by the small circles that accompany their nodes. One of the transforms has multiple tags assigned to it, therefore its circle tag has a blend of colors.
Tags can be added to most objects in Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
