    This tutorial demonstrates how to set up aeroacoustics problems in Simcenter STAR-CCM+. The flow around a cylinder is used in the simulation to describe the required steps.

    In the previous section of this tutorial, you completed the steady-state analysis runs for qualifying the volume mesh. In this section, continuing from the previous simulation file, you set up the final transient run for an unsteady analysis of the near field and an FW-H analysis of the far field.

Creating a CAE Model Based on the Solution History Data

To prepare the solution history data for the Post FW-H analysis, you create a CAE model based on the .simh file.

To create a CAE model based on the solution history data:

Right-click Solution Views > cylinderPressureData and select Create Static CAE Model from Recorded Parts.
A CAE model node named simh:cylinderPressureData is created under Imported Models. This node provides an interface with the exported .simh file.
Under Regions, Simcenter STAR-CCM+ creates a region named simh:cylinderPressureData that is based on geometrical elements detected in the .simh file.
After the import process, the imported CAE model nodes are connected to the corresponding region nodes.
Save the simulation.
