Using Power Tokens as a Parallel License Feature for HPC Runs

You can use power tokens as parallel license features.

Prior to Simcenter STAR-CCM+ v9.02, the license check-out procedure for a HPC run was as follows:

  1. Try to satisfy the parallel requirement with hpcdomains.
  2. If insufficient licenses, try to satisfy the remaining requirement with ccmplite (if using Simcenter STAR-CCM+ lite).
  3. If insufficient licenses, try to satisfy the remaining requirement with ccmpsuite, unless the runtime option -nosuite is specified.

From Simcenter STAR-CCM+ v9.02 onwards, you can use power tokens to fulfill requirements for a parallel license.

The new procedure is as follows:

  1. Try to satisfy the parallel requirement with hpcdomains.
  2. If insufficient licenses, try to satisfy the remaining requirement with DOEtoken.
  3. If insufficient licenses, try to satisfy the remaining requirement with ccmplite (if using Simcenter STAR-CCM+ lite).
  4. If insufficient licenses, try to satisfy the remaining requirement with ccmpsuite, unless the runtime option -nosuite is specified.
