After installing Simcenter STAR-CCM+, you can access documentation and tutorials on the Support Center or within the installation.
Simcenter STAR-CCM+ Licensing
Simcenter STAR-CCM+ is licensed software that operates according to license feature keys that it checks out from the license management system. Apart from the default mode, you can launch Simcenter STAR-CCM+ in Read-only Mode, Lite, Power Session, and Power on Demand.
Power on Demand Licensing
The Power on Demand (PoD) session allows you to use a Simcenter STAR-CCM+ Power Session from a Siemens Digital Industries Software public license server rather than a license server on your own network.

After installing Simcenter STAR-CCM+, you can access documentation and tutorials on the Support Center or within the installation.

  The Simcenter STAR-CCM+ documentation is provided in two formats, HTML and PDF. The PDF file can be found within the doc directory of your Simcenter STAR-CCM+ installation.

  The Options dialog is used to control a number of global options in Simcenter STAR-CCM+. The choices you make are stored in a properties folder that is unique for each version of Simcenter STAR-CCM+ you run on your machine.

Power on Demand Licensing

The Power on Demand (PoD) session allows you to use a Simcenter STAR-CCM+ Power Session from a Siemens Digital Industries Software public license server rather than a license server on your own network.

You can purchase Real Time credit to use with the public license server. When you purchase Real Time credit, this credit is added to your account where it is available for you to use at any time. Real Time credit has a 12-month validity period. A unique key is used for authenticating the session before it starts. Simcenter STAR-CCM+ requires this key when you launch a new session with PoD licensing. You can create multiple keys to manage and track your time credit within your company.

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ requires some ports to be open to facilitate communication between your machine and the PoD license server. Also define the CDLMD_LICENSE_FILE environment variable.

In the Create a New Simulation or Load Simulation dialog, the correct format for the license path (the Server text box) is:

1999@flex.cd-adapco.com

The Power on Demand Key must be a Base64-encoded string.

Verify all your license information before entering it. If the Power on Demand checkbox is activated and if either of these text boxes is empty or incorrectly formatted, an error message appears. In addition to the error message, the invalid text box is highlighted with a red border.
