Setting Up the Battery Mesh

Set the battery mesh base size and generate the mesh continuum.

The battery mesher generates a thin mesh on the tab stems, tab roots, and stack for thermal mesh and also generates a separate Cartesian electrical mesh on the stack.

To set up the battery mesh:

  1. Right-click the Batteries > Battery Modules > Battery Module node.
  2. Select Setup Battery Parts Meshing.


    A new Mesh Battery Module node appears under the Geometry > Operations node.

  3. Select the Geometry > Operations > Mesh Battery Module > Default Controls > Base Size node and set Base Size to 5 mm.
  4. Select the Mesh Battery Module > Custom Controls > Tab Parts Volume Control > Values > Custom Size node and verify the following settings.
    Property Setting
    Size Type Relative to Base
    Percentage of Base 12.5
  5. Right-click the Geometry > Operations > Mesh Battery Module node and select Execute.


  6. Create a Mesh Scene.

    Mesh Scene 1 is displayed in the Graphics window.

    The volume mesh is shown below.



  7. Save the simulation.
