Saving, Closing, and Loading a simulation in Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder is fully integrated within Simcenter STAR-CCM+—all setup and solution data are stored within the .sim file.

Note	In this context, unless otherwise stated, the term "ICE simulation" refers to a simulation that is set up with Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder.


Objective	Procedure
Saving an ICE simulation	Click (Save). In the Save dialog, enter the name and location where you want to save the file. Click Save. You can save an ICE simulation at any stage.
Closing an ICE simulation	Click the x button next to the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder simulation in the Explorer pane.
Loading an ICE simulation	Launch Simcenter STAR-CCM+ and click (Load Simulation...). In the Load Simulation dialog, click Browse.... In the Open dialog, navigate to the working directory, select the appropriate .sim file, and click Open. Complete the Load Simulation dialog according to the properties described in Interactive Startup Reference and click OK. Launch Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder using one of the following options: In the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ object tree, right-click In-Cylinder and select Open Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-Cylinder. In the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ toolbar, click (Open Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-Cylinder).
