Activating the Object Selection Dialog

For the specific method to open the object selection dialog, see the instructions of the particular Simcenter STAR-CCM+ feature that you are using.

In general, to open the dialog:

  • Click the right half of a Parts property (or a similar property by another name), or click (Custom Editor).

When you click the property field for small sets of objects (10 or less), the object selector appears as a drop-down list by default.

In single-select mode, the list disappears when you make a selection. In multi-select mode, the list disappears when you press <Enter> or when the list no longer has the focus. In either mode, the list disappears and the changes are cancelled when you press <Esc>.

To access the dialog for a small set, click (Custom Editor).

  • Click a specific button in a dialog, such as Select for Input Parts.

  • Select a menu item that accesses a set of objects in the simulation, such as Set Boundary > Existing.

When you select such a menu item for small sets of objects (10 or less), the object selector appears as a set of submenu items by default.

In single-select mode, the list disappears when you make a selection. In multi-select mode, the list disappears when you press <Enter> or when the list no longer has the focus. In either mode, the list disappears and the changes are cancelled when you press <Esc>.
