Electronics Cooling Toolset Reference

The following sections provide definitions and settings for the various objects within the Electronics Cooling Toolset.

Electronics Manager Right-Click Actions

The following actions are available when you right-click the Electronics node at the root of the object tree:

Summarize...
Displays the following summary of simulation data in the Output window:
  • Total Power: sum of all specified heat sources.
  • Gravity Direction: display of gravity vector.
  • Number of QuickParts: total number of all QuickPart objects.
  • Number of Mesh Cells: number of cells for the generated volume mesh.
  • Number of Iterations: current iteration number.
  • QuickPart Type Count: lists the number of QuickParts for each available QuickPart type.
Collapse Tree
Shrinks the tree back to its default size.
Update
Updates the simulation setup. Use this action if your model is out of date and you encounter a problem regarding a CAD data or QuickPart update.

Common Object Right-Click Actions

The following action is available when you right-click an object node in the tree:

Edit
Allows you to edit the properties of the selected object. Applying this action to several QuickParts of the same type enables you to multi-edit the physics. Hold down the <Ctrl> key when selecting the parts.

The following actions are available to all object nodes except for the Setup nodes:

Delete
Removes the selected object from the tree. Deleting the resulting part of a Construction Geometries Operation reverses the operation and restores the input parts. When you delete a QuickPart Surface, the corresponding faces are transferred back to the default surface.
Rename...
Allows you to change the name of the object under which it is stored in the tree.
Set New Tag...
Creates a new tag and adds it to the selected object. Tags can be used to organize objects in the model. If you have a large simulation with many objects in the tree, you can add a custom tree for quick access to the objects that are associated with a tag. See Using Custom Simulation Trees.
Set Tags...
Allows you to set a new or previously created tag to the selected object. For more information, see Set New Tag.
