Enhancing the LES Solution Accuracy and Convergence Rate

High-order temporal discretization schemes give faster unsteady solutions by allowing the use of larger time-steps while also being more accurate than lower-order schemes. Therefore, you use a second-order temporal discretization scheme. Additionally, you reduce gradients limiting, which allows higher gradient variations in the flow field.

To enhance the accuracy of temporal discretization:
  1. Select the Solvers > Implicit Unsteady node and set Temporal Discretization to 2nd-order.
  2. Select the Solvers > Segregated Flow > High-Accuracy Temporal Discretization node and set Option to Optimized 2nd-order (5).
To reduce gradients limiting:
  1. Select the Continua > LES > Models > Gradients node and set the following properties:
    PropertySetting
    Use TVB Gradient LimitingActivated
    Acceptable Field Variation (Factor)0.15
  2. Save the simulation.
