Adjusting the Parameters

Adjust the parameters that define the inflow volume, the vent refinement, the test chamber, and the closures so that they align with the new duct geometry.

To define the location and orientation of the misaligned parts, set the parameters associated with the DuctCenter and VentCenter coordinates:
  1. Expand the Automation > Parameters > CoordinateSystems node and set the Value property for each parameter as follows:
    Parameter Value
    DuctCenterOrigin [-0.21, 0, 0] m
    DuctCenterXAxisInput [0, 0, 1]
    DuctCenterXYPlane [0, 1, 0]
    VentCenterOrigin [0.042, 0, 0]
    VentCenterXAxisInput [1, 0, 0]
    VentCenterXYPlane [0, 1, 0]
The current radius of the inflow volume is too small to cover the entire duct inlet.
  1. To increase the radius of the inflow volume, select the Parameters > GeometryPartParameters > InflowVolRadius node and set Value to 0.08 m.
The duct closure is also too small to close the duct inlet.
  1. To increase the dimensions of the duct closure, expand the Parameters > ClosurePartParameters and set the Value property for the duct closure parameters as follows:
    Parameter Value
    DuctClosureCorner1 [-0.05, -0.05, -0.005]
    DuctClosureCorner2 [0.05, 0.05, 0.005]
By observing the 01_InputGeometry scene, you see the model of the inflow volume does not update automatically once the parameters have been updated.
  1. To update the CAD model of the inflow volume, right-click the Geometry > Parts > Geometry > InflowVolumeCAD node and select Update.
  2. Open the 01_InputGeometry, 02_Closures, and 03_VentRefinement scenes to check the closures, vent refinement volume, inflow volume, and test chamber align with the new parameter defintions.

With the simulation parts aligned, the simulation is configured to work with the new duct geometry.
  1. To execute the simulation operations, click (Play/Resume "Simulation Operations 1") in the solution toolbar.
