Specifying Gas and Particle Phase Boundary Conditions

Air enters the cylindrical reactor through the bottom boundary at an inlet velocity of 2.5 m/s, which is equivalent to a mass flow rate of 1.49 kg/s. The air leaves the reactor at the top through a pressure outlet boundary. Both of these flow boundaries are impermeable to the solid particles.

To specify the boundary conditions:
  1. Expand the Regions > Domain > Boundaries node.
  2. Select the Bottom and in Properties node and set Type to Mass Flow Inlet.
  3. Select the Bottom > Phase Conditions > Particle node and set Type to Phase Impermeable.
  4. Select the Bottom > Physics Values > Mass Flow Rate node and set Value to ${Fluid Mass Flow Rate}.
  5. Select the Boundaries > Top node and set Type to Pressure Outlet.
  6. Select the Top > Phase Conditions > Particle node and set Type to Phase Impermeable.
  7. Save the simulation
