Renaming Bodies and Faces of the Imported Geometry
If the names of bodies and faces of an imported CAD geometry do not match the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder naming convention, you can rename them. You rename bodies in the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder object tree. To rename faces, you must edit the imported CAD geometry in 3D-CAD.

Rename the respective
node.
Example:
- Click Update.
To rename a face:
- Right-click the Geometry node and select Edit 3D-CAD Model.
- In the 3D-CAD object tree, right-click the Roll Back. node and select

Depending on whether the face requires re-organisation, do one of the following:

Yes - In the 3D-CAD View window, select the required underlying faces. To select multiple faces, hold down the <Ctrl> key.
- Right-click the selection and select
Rename.
- In the Rename and Color Faces dialog, set the Name for the selection and click OK.
- Click Close 3D-CAD.
- In Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder, click Update.
