Visualizing and Reporting the Conjugate Heat Transfer Results

Analyze the scenes and plots while the simulation is running or when it completes.

To monitor the results in plots, first create a report associated to that plot. To monitor plots and scenes while the simulation runs, open and prepare the scenes and plots before you run the simulation.
Useful field functions related to heat transfer to monitor and report:
  • Boundary Heat Flux
  • Boundary Heat Transfer
  • Heat Transfer Coefficient
  • Local Heat Transfer Coefficient
  • Specified Y+ Heat Transfer Coefficient
  • Virtual Local Heat Transfer

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ provides a number of primitive field functions to monitor and report the heat transfer on the surfaces and the interfaces. To learn more about all field functions related to the heat transfer, see Heat Transfer Field Functions Reference.

Use reports and plots to check the solid and the fluid bodies temperatures to see if the values are realistic. To analyze the influence of fluid velocity on heat transfer, you can monitor and plot the near-wall velocity field function.
