Preparing for Analysis
Create a scalar scene to display the Z-component of the magnetic flux density on the magnet. Also, create a plot to display the flux density along a line contour directed along the radius of the magnet plate.
- Create a scalar scene and rename it to Magnetic Flux Density [k].
-
Edit the Magnetic Flux Density [k] node and set the
following properties:

Function
To plot the flux-density along a line contour, create a line probe that is directed along the radius of the magnet plate. Position the line origin, that is, the start point, in the center of the air gap. Since the center of the air gap is located 6 mm from the magnet surface, and the magnet length is 8 mm in the z-direction, position the line at z = 14 mm. To create the line probe, it is convenient to use a cylindrical coordinate system:
- Right-click the node and select .
- In the Create Cylindrical Coordinate System in-place dialog, click Create then Close.
- Right-click the Derived Parts node and select .
-
In the
Create Line Probe editor:
- Right-click the Plots node and select .
- Rename the XY Plot 1 node to Radial Magnetic Flux Density.
-
Edit the
Radial Magnetic Flux Density node and set the following properties:
Node Property Setting Radial Magnetic Flux Density Parts Title B(r) Data Type Scalar Scalar Function
Field Function Smooth Values Activated Scalar Function
Field Function Sort Plot Data Activated Line Style
Style Solid - Save the simulation.
