Graphics Window—Interactive Right-Click Actions

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder offers various interactive dimensioning and positioning capabilities for geometries and Engine Parts.

The following right-click actions are available for the different geometric entities that are displayed in the Graphics window:
Selected Geometric Entity Common Right-Click Actions
None
Restore Hidden Quick Objects
Restores all previously hidden geometries and/or Engine Parts.
Restore Hidden Quick Cad Faces
Restores all previously hidden faces of geometries and/or Engine Parts.
Hardcopy...
Allows you to save the visualization display to an image file. For more information, see Hardcopy Properties.
Face Planar
Create Cylinder and Valves
Opens a dialog that allows you to specify the engine configuration and engine symmetry. See Engine Parts Creation Dialog.
Using the settings that you specify in the dialog and the filters described in [ref_link], Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder assigns the geometry to the respective Engine Parts and the geometry surfaces to the respective Engine Part Surfaces.
Create Face Coordinate System
Creates a new local coordinate system, where the origin of the coordinate system is centered on the selected face. Local coordinate systems are useful to place geometries or Engine Parts in reference to each other.
Hide
Hides the selected face from the visualization display. This action is useful for gaining a clear view of other objects. You can restore hidden objects by right-clicking in the empty background of the visualization display and selecting Restore Hidden Quick CAD Faces.
New Construction Geometry > [Type]
Creates a new templated geometry of the respective type on the selected face.
NoteThe position of the mouse pointer when selecting the face determines the position of the local origin of the new geometry.
Curved
Hide
As for Planar Face.
Any
Rename
Allows you to change the name of the respective geometry or Engine Part under which it is stored in the tree.
Edit
Allows you to change the geometrical and physical properties of the respective geometry or Engine Part.
Hide
Hides the respective geometry or Engine Part from the visualization display. This action is useful for gaining a clear view of other objects. You can restore a specific hidden object by right-clicking on the respective entry in the tree and selecting Show. To restore all hidden objects click in the empty background of the visualization display and select Restore Hidden Quick Objects.
Position...
Launches the Positioning Tool that allows you to place the respective geometry or Engine Part in reference to other objects.
Selected Geometric Entity Specific Right-Click Actions for Engine Parts
Face
Edit
Allows you to change the properties of the respective Engine Part Surface.
Create QuickPart Surface
Creates a new Engine Part Surface that corresponds to the selected face. You can select several faces at once by holding down the <Ctrl> key when selecting the faces. The new Engine Part Surface is stored in the tree under the specified Name.
This option is only available for unnamed faces.
