Loading the Base Simulation
A base simulation file has been prepared for this analysis. Continue by copying the file from the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ installation directory, starting the simulation, loading the base simulation file and saving it under a different file name.
Note | Use the double precision version of Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for all aeroacoustic and hydroacoustic analyses. |
- Create a directory for the tutorial called aeroacoustics.
- In this directory, copy the file containing the problem geometry (cylinderBase.sim) from the aeroacoustics folder of the downloaded tutorial files. Also copy the two macro files, compareRmsDragLiftCoefficient.java and compareRmsDragLiftCoefficientRefinedMesh.java.
- Start up a double precision version of Simcenter STAR-CCM+ in a manner that is appropriate to your working environment.

Click
(Load Simulation) from the tool bar and open cylinderBase.sim.
- Save the new simulation to disk under file name cylinder.sim.
