Setting Up the Physics Models

Models define the primary variables of the simulation, including pressure, temperature and velocity, and what mathematical formulation is used to generate the solution.

In this example, the flow is turbulent and compressible. The Coupled Flow Model is used together with the default K-Epsilon Turbulence model.

  1. For the physics continuum Continua > Physics 1, deactivate Auto-select recommended models and select the following models, in order:
    Group BoxModel

    FlowCoupled Flow
    Equation of StateIdeal Gas
    EnergyCoupled Energy

  2. Click Close.
  3. In the intake window, open the Continua > Physics 1 > Models node.

The selected models now appear within that node.

  4. Save the simulation.
