Visualizing the Velocity Distribution

You visualize the velocity distribution inside the pump on a mid-section through the geometry in the form of velocity contours.

To visualize the velocity distribution:
  1. Create a section plane at the center of the pump geometry:
    1. Right-click the Derived Parts node and select New > Section > Plane Section.
    2. In the Create Plane Section dialog, set the following properties:
      Property Setting
      Origin [0.0 m, 0.0 m, 0.00125 m]
      Normal [0.0 m, 0.0 m, 1.0 m]
      Display No Displayer
    3. Click Create, then Close.
  2. Create a scalar scene for the contours:
    1. Right-click the Scenes node and select New > Scalar.
    2. Select the Scalar Scene 1 node and rename it as Velocity Contours.
    3. Right-click the Velocity Contours > Outline 1 node and select Toggle Visibility.
    4. Select the Velocity Contours > Scalar 1 > Parts node and set Parts to Derived Parts > Plane Section..
    5. Select the Scalar 1 > Scalar Field node and set the following properties:
      Property Setting
Function Velocity > Lab reference Frame > Magnitude
      Auto Range Min Value
      Clip Off
      Max 8.0
    6. Select the Scalar 1 node and set Contour Style to Smooth Filled.
  3. Save the simulation.
