Visualizing Mesh Movement and Pressure Distribution
You visualize the mesh movement and the fluid velocity on a section plane.
-
To visualize mesh movement:
- Right-click the Scenes node and select New > Mesh.
- Rename the Mesh Scene 1 to Mesh Movement.
- Select the Mesh Movement > Mesh 1 > Parts node and set Parts to Regions > PumpFluid.
-
Select the Mesh Movement > Attributes > View node and set the following properties:
Property Setting View Up [0.0,1.0,0.0] Projection Mode Parallel - To add the current time step to the scene, select the Tools > Annotations > Time Step node and drag it onto the scene Mesh Movement. In the scene, click and drag the annotation to the top-left corner.
The created scene is shown below:
-
To visualize the pressure distribution within the gerotor pump over a cross
section:
- Right-click the Scenes node and select New > Scalar.
- Rename the Scalar Scene 1 to Scalar Pressure.
- Right-click the Derived Parts node and select New > Section > Plane Section.
-
In the Create Plane Section edit
panel, apply the following settings:
Property Setting Input Parts [PumpFluid] Plane Parameters origin: [0.0, 0.0, 0.01]
normal: [0.0 m, 0.0 m, 1.0m]
Display No Displayer - Click Create followed by Close.
-
To add the geometry to the velocity scalar, select Scenes > Scalar Pressure > Outline 1 node and set the properties as follows:
Property Setting Opacity 0.2 Surface ✓ -
Select the Attributes > View node and set the following properties:
Property Setting View Up [0.0,1.0,0.0] Projection Mode Parallel - Select the Scalar 1 > Parts node and add Derived Parts > Plane Section to Parts.
-
Select the Scalar Field node and set the
properties as follows:
Property Setting Function Pressure Auto Range Off Clip Off Min -500.0 Pa Max 500.0 Pa - Select the Scalar 1 node and Contour Style to Smooth Filled.
- To add the current time step to the scene, select the Tools > Annotations > Time Step node and drag it onto the scene Scalar Pressure.
The created scene is shown below:
- Save the simulation.
