Preparing Scenes and Plots for the Acoustics Analysis

To analyze the Perturbed Convective Wave solution, you set up plots that display the acoustic pressure and the pressure perturbation over time at the microphone and at the pressure transducer. Additionally, you prepare visualization of the acoustic pressure within the flow domain.

To prepare scenes and plots for the acoustics analysis:
  1. Plot the acoustic pressure and pressure perturbation:
    1. Expand the Reports node.
    2. Multi-select the following nodes and set Field Function to Acoustic Pressure:
      • Microphone: Acoustic Pressure
      • Pressure Transducer: Acoustic Pressure
    3. Multi-select the following nodes and set Field Function to Pressure Perturbation:
      • Microphone: Pressure Perturbation
      • Pressure Transducer: Pressure Perturbation
    4. Multi-select the Microphone: Acoustic Pressure and the Microphone: Pressure Perturbation nodes, right-click one of the selected nodes, and select Create Monitor and Plot from Report.
    5. In the Create Plot From Reports dialog, click Single Plot.
The plot open in the Graphics window.
    6. Rename the Plots > Reports Plot node to Microphone: Acoustic Pressure and Pressure Perturbation Monitors Plot.
    7. Repeat Steps 1d - f for the Pressure Transducer: Acoustic Pressure and the Pressure Transducer: Pressure Perturbation nodes and rename the created plot to Pressure Transducer: Acoustic Pressure and Pressure Perturbation Monitors Plot.
  2. Visualize the acoustic pressure:
    1. Expand the Scenes folder and open the LES > Acoustic Pressure scene.
    2. Select the Acoustic Pressure > Scalar 1 > Scalar Field node and set the following properties:
      Property Setting
      Function Acoustic Pressure
      Auto Range Off
      Min -0.02 Pa
      Max 0.02 Pa
  3. Save the simulation.
