Specifying Orthotropic Porous Resistance Coefficients

You specify the porous resistance coefficients in the form of an orthotropic tensor along the principal axes. You do not have to change the default local Orientation of the tensor, because you specify the porous resistance components in the directions of the default Cartesian axes.

  1. Select the Regions > Porous > Physics Values > Porous Interial Resistance node and set Method to Orthotropic Tensor.
  2. Select the Porous Inertial Resistance > Orthotropic Tensor node and set the following properties:
    Node Property Setting
    XX Component Value 10000 kg/m^4
    YY Component Value 25 kg/m^4
    ZZ Component Value 10000 kg/m^4
  3. Select the Porous Viscous Resistance node and set Method to Orthotropic Tensor.
  4. Edit the Porous Viscous Resistance > Orthotropic Tensor node and set the following properties:
    Node Property Setting
    XX Component Value 100000 kg/m^3-s
    YY Component Value 1500 kg/m^3-s
    ZZ Component Value 100000 kg/m^3-s
  5. Save the simulation.
