Setting the Time-Step Size and the Wall Treatment

You enable automatic time-step control, which reduces the time-step size based on the start and end of fuel injection, and apply the Angelberger wall treatment formulation for diesel.

To set up the automatic time-step control:
  1. Right-click the Solvers node and select Edit.
  2. In the Time Step Settings group box, activate Automatic, then click Settings.
  3. In the Auto Time-Step Settings dialog, click through the Global and the Injectors tabs.
The Global tab displays the time-step settings that are valid throughout the simulation. The Injectors tab displays the time-step settings that are valid in certain intervals before and after fuel injection. For information on the calculation of the time-step size, see Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-Cylinder Reference > Solvers: Time-Step Settings.
  4. Click OK.
To apply the Angelberger wall treatment formulation:
  1. In the Wall Treatment group box, set the following properties:
    Property Setting
