Running the Design Study and Exporting FMU

By default, all the surrogates are computed automatically at the end of the design study run. To verify that the surrogate approximations represent the model behavior, you create surrogate fit plots.

After the design study is completed, you export the surrogates to a Functional Mockup Unit (FMU). Using this FMU, Simcenter Amesim can obtain an approximation of the flapper valve behavior without requiring a full 3D fluid simulation.
To cover all necessary combinations of the two design input parameters, the sweep study executes 30 runs. To run multiple designs simultaneously:
  1. Select the Design Studies > flapper_sweep > Settings > Run Settings node and set the Simultaneous Jobs to 6.
To launch the design study run:
  1. Right-click the Design Studies > flapper_sweep node and select Run Study.
To export the surrogates in an FMU:
  1. Right-click the Design Studies > flapper_sweep > Surrogates node and select Export to FMU....

  2. In the Export to FMU dialog, enter the name flapper_surrogates.fmu and click Save.
It exports an FMU of the type Model Exchange with FMI version 2.0. See also Export to FMU....
  3. Save the Design Manager project.
