Running the Simulation

In this section, you adjust the solver settings and stopping criteria before running the simulation.

  1. To adjust the solver settings, expand the Solvers node and set the following properties:
    Node Property Setting
    Lagrangian Multiphase
    Steady
    Iteration Update Frequency First Iteration 10
    Update Frequency 5
    Two-Way Coupling Under-Relaxation Factor 0.5
    Segregated Flow
    Velocity Under-Relaxation Factor 0.7
    Segregated Energy Fluid Under-Relaxation Factor 0.8
    DO Radiation
    Update Frequency > Steady Iteration Update Frequency 10
    PPDF Combustion Under-Relaxation Factor 0.8
    In industrial cases, to relieve any instabilities, you can reduce the maximum and minimum courant numbers for the Lagrangian Multiphase solver.
  2. To define the stopping criteria, select the Stopping Criteria > Maximum Steps node and set Maximum Steps to 500.
  3. Save the simulation.
  4. Run the simulation.
  5. When the simulation is complete, click Save.
