Defining the Solid Material Properties

For the disc, define an isotropic solid material and specify its mechanical properties.

To define the solid material:
  1. In the Simulation Navigator panel, right-click the 3D Collectors > Solid (1) node and select Edit...

  2. In the Mesh Collector dialog, select Edit...

  3. In the PSOLID dialog, select Choose Material.

In this simulation, you model the disc as an isotropic solid and specify the material density, Young's modulus, and Poisson's ratio:
  1. In the Material List dialog, select Create Material.

  2. In the Isotropic Material dialog, set the following properties:
    Property Setting
    Name - Description Solid Disc
    Mass Density (RHO) 1000

    Set the units to kg/m3.

    Young's Modulus (E) 25 MPa
    Poisson's Ratio (NU) 0.3
  3. Click OK in the Isotropic Material dialog, Material List dialog, PSOLID dialog, and Mesh Collector dialog.
