Analyzing with TAITherm

When you have finished the mapping work in Simcenter STAR-CCM+, export the data to the Patran Neutral file format (.ntl). See Exporting Mapped Data.

Then do as follows:

  1. Import the file into TAITherm.
  2. Set up the boundary conditions and thermal parameters in TAITherm and run the analysis.
  3. Prepare and export the results from the TAITherm file to the Patran Neutral file format. See Preparing a Model in TAITherm.
  4. Import the data into Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
  5. Export the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ fluid analysis results into the Patran Neutral file format.
  6. Back in the TAITherm file, import the Patran file created by Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
  7. If there are no error messages after importing the geometry, use TAITherm’s Import CFD Results feature to map the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ results to the geometry of the TAITherm file.
  8. Use TAITherm’s Model Parameter Display feature to view the fluid reference temperature values, and make sure they are consistent with those generated by Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
