Design Manager Reference

The following properties and right-click actions are available for a Design Manager project.

Design Manager Project Properties

The following properties are available for the Design Manager project node at the root of the object tree.

Name
Displays the name of the Design Manager project (read only).
Connection Mode
Displays whether and how other users can connect to the server running the Design Manager project (read only). For more information, see Server Connection Mode.
Project Artifact Directory
Specifies the path to the project artifact directory, which contains all the outputs of the design studies—such as simulation files, log files, Viewer files, and plot files. For more information, see directory file structure.
By default, Design Manager uses the relative path to the directory that contains the *.dmprj file.
Study Execution Abort File Name
Allows you to specify the name of a file that, once placed in the project root directory, causes the design studies in your Design Manager project to abort. This action is useful for stopping a batch run. The default file name is DM_ABORT.
Auto Save
When On, Design Manager saves the Design Manager project file (*.dmprj) after each design simulation completes.
Retain Temporary Artifacts
When activated, allows you to store temporary artifacts created by study execution in the .mdxruntime folder. The .mdxruntime directory structure and file contents are subject-to-change. For more information, see directory file structure.

Design Manager Project Right-Click Actions

The following specific actions are available when you right-click the Design Manager project node. For information on the common right-click actions, see Common Pop-Up Menu Items.

View Log
Allows you to view the log file of the Design Manager project.
Whenever you save the Design Manager project, an entry is added to a project log. The project log is a record of each save operation through the life of the project, which specifically records the following for every save operation:
  • Date
  • Time
  • Version number
  • Architecture that was used.
The information is stored in the project file itself, and not in a separate file. The log could be useful if you are checking compatibility issues between architectures, or between greatly disparate version numbers, for example.
You can also intersperse a log with comments of your own, see Adding Comments.
Collapse Tree
Shrinks the object tree back to its default size.
