Algebraic Slip
To improve the accuracy of the volume fraction distribution and the mixture density, the two-phase thermodynamic equlibrium model uses empirical correlations to compute the slip ratio between phase velocities according to an algebraic slip formulation. However, the kinematic effect of relative motion between the phases is not accounted for.
The algebraic slip model uses empirical correlations for the slip velocity ratio :
(2954)
where is the gravity vector.
In the algebraic slip model, the expression for the vapor volume fraction in Eqn. (2935) is replaced with:
(2955)
where the slip velocity ratio is calculated using an appropriate correlation.
