Creating and Editing a Screenplay Animation
The first step in setting up a Screenplay animation is to create the Screenplay object and select its associated scene, plot, or layout. If you use a layout, you can include more than one display in your Screenplay animation.
Before you begin work on your animation:
- Define the primary scene whose objects you intend to animate. You can include other scenes and plots within the primary scene using scene attributes.
- For efficient graphics output during the setup, deactivate advanced rendering in scenes that use it. If desired, reactivate advanced rendering, for example before recording a movie file.
To create and open a Screenplay:
- Navigate to .
-
Right-click the Screenplays node and select
New. In the
Select View Object dialog, add a new scene
or choose an existing scene, plot, or layout. For details about layouts, see
Assembling Layout Views.
Note Screenplay can only modify properties of objects in its own simulation. Although you can record layouts that include displays from other simulations, properties of scenes from those simulations cannot be changed and thus remain static in the layout. - Alternatively, within the Scenes node, right-click an existing scene node and select Create Screenplay.
- To define the overall properties of the Screenplay, select the Director node and set the Target Frame Rate (fps), End Duration, and whether to Loop the animation or not. See Director.
- To edit an existing Screenplay, right-click its node and select Edit. Alternatively, double-click the node.
- To use a layout in an existing Screenplay:
- Select its node and edit the Associated View Object property.
- Set up the layout with the scenes and/or plots that you want to include in the animation. For details, see Creating and Modifying Layout Views.
