3D-CAD: Defeature and Repair using the European Truck

In some modeling scenarios the level of detail in an imported CAD file is higher than necessary for the simulation. To simplify geometry in these cases, Simcenter STAR-CCM+ provides geometry repair and defeaturing tools within 3D-CAD, along with a shape-based search function.

The Search tool helps you organize geometry using a query filter approach for finding parts. One unique feature within the Search tool is the Find Similar function, which allows you to search for target entities based on sample entities that you specify.

This tutorial demonstrates how to use the search tool in conjunction with defeaturing and clash resolution for improving the European-style truck geometry.
