Setting the Stopping Criteria and the Solution History File

Resume the simulation and set the maximum time to ten seconds. Create a solution history file to record the particle (tablet) velocities and the Spray Residence Time

  1. Select the Stopping Criteria > Maximum Physical Time node and set Maximum Physical Time to 10.0 s.
  2. Right-click Solution Histories and select New.
  3. Enter rotatingDrumData as the name of the solution history file and click Save.
A new node containing the name of the solution history file is added below the Solution Histories node. The red asterisk next to this node means that data is actively written to the file when the simulation runs.
  4. To choose what data to write to the solution history file, and the frequency of writing it, edit the Solution Histories > rotatingDrumData node and set the following properties:
    Node Property Setting
    rotatingDrumData Auto-record Activated
    Export for reporting Activated
    Inputs Lagrangian Phases > tablet
    Functions Particle: Spray Residence Time
    Particle: Particle Velocity
    Particle: Particle Velocity: Magnitude
    Update Trigger Time Step
    Time-Step Frequency Frequency 1
  5. Save the simulation.
