Setting Up a Visualization Scene

Set up the Scalar Drum Scene in preparation for display of the tablets.

To view the pre-defined scene:
  1. Right-click the Scenes > Scalar Scene Drum node and select Open.
A view similar to the one shown below appears (note that the tablets have yet to be injected).

  2. Select Scalar Scene Drum > Tablets > Scalar Fields and set Function to Particle: Spray Residence Time.
The "Spray Residence Time" caption is added to the scene.
  3. Select Scenes > Scalar Scene Drum > Tablets > Parts and set Parts to Lagrangian Phases > tablet.
To save results images to files every 0.04 seconds:
  1. Select Scalar Scene Drum > Attributes > Update > Time-Step Frequency and set Frequency to 4.

For the final scene, a report annotation provides a count of coated particles. To supply the input part for this report, you create a derived part based on the threshold value of the scalar Spray Residence Time.

To create the threshold part:

  1. Right-click Derived Parts and select New Part > Threshold...
  2. In the Edit dialog:
    1. Set Input Parts to Lagrangian Phases > tablet.
    2. Set Scalar to Particle > Spray Residence Time.
    3. Set Extraction Mode to All Above and ensure the Threshold Value is set to 0.0.
    4. Set to No Displayer.
  3. Click Create and Close.
  4. Rename the Threshold node to Color Sprayed Tablets.
  5. Select the Reports > SprayedTablets node and set Parts to Derived Parts > Color Sprayed Tablets.
  6. Save the simulation.
