    - Prerequisites

In a later step, you define interactions between tablets and the mixer walls and between other tablets.

      The DEM particle interactions define how the particles behave when they collide with one another and with the drum walls.

Visualizing the Results of the Injection

View the results of the initial simulation.

The most recent result is displayed in the scalar scene window and a set image files has been saved to the directory. An animation of the particles dropping into the revolving drum can be produced from these images. Another approach that can be used is to set up a simulation history file, from which a solution view and animation can be created within Simcenter STAR-CCM+. Refer to Simulation History: Lagrangian DEM on an Auger for more details on how to do this.

The result of the first simulation run appears in the Visualization window of Scalar Scene Drum and should look similar to the following image.

Note	The result will not produce exactly the same image owing to the random injection algorithm, but the angle of repose should be similar.

The scene shows the cylindrical particles in the rotating drum, after three seconds of rotation. The tablets have reached an equilibrium position.
