Surrogate
A surrogate model indicates an approximation model in which a continuous fitting function is developed from discrete data samples. To achieve the best approximation for a particular scenario, various modeling types and parameters are provided in Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
The surrogate type specifies the mathematical modeling for surrogate calculations based on the sample data. Different surrogate types construct different surrogate functions that predict the response values of the unknown area of the design space.
