Modifying the Run Setup
Modify the run setup to allow the GT-SUITE simulation to run 20 pre-cycles, and then 3 coupled cycles.
Make sure that the GT-SUITE simulation duration contains the coupled cycles. This practice allows the GT-SUITE solver to collect results for the coupled cycles for post-processing within GT-POST.
Previously, you ensured the solver would stop when the solution was steady state. However, you begin coupling to Simcenter STAR-CCM+ after the GT-SUITE solution reaches a periodic steady state. Allow the solver to continue after the steady state criteria are met, and set the simulation to run 20 pre-cycles, plus 3 coupled cycles, which requires 23 cycles in total.
To modify the run setup:
- In the Model Setup ribbon, click Run Setup.
- In the Run Setup dialog, select the TimeControl tab.
-
To run the solver for the required number of engine cycles, set
Maximum Simulation Duration (Cycles) to
23.
This value gives enough cycles for the GT-SUITE simulation to converge (20), plus the required number of coupled cycles (3).
- Set Automatic Shut-Off When Steady-State to off, so that the solver runs for the maximum number of cycles, without terminating prematurely.
- Click OK.
- Save the GT-SUITE model.
