Setting up Moving Reference Frames
You can use moving reference frames for modeling problems that involve rotation and translation without physically moving the mesh. This approach applies the fluid forces induced by the motion to a region for less computational effort.
To set up a case with a moving reference frame:
-
Prepare the geometry so that you distinguish between rotating and static portions.
See Preparing Geometry.
The rotating element must be enclosed within its own region to which you can assign the rotating reference frame.
- Define and apply the rotating reference frame.
