Reducing Under-Relaxation Factor and Time-Step Size

To aid solution convergence, you reduce the under-relaxation factor for the pressure solver. For the automatic time-step control, you reduce the time-step size after fuel injection and decrease the time period in which the reduced time-step is used.

To set the pressure under-relaxation factor:
  1. Right-click the Solvers node and select Edit.
  2. In the Solver Settings group box, set Pressure Under-Relaxation Factor to 0.5.
To set the time-step size:
  1. In the Time-Step Settings group box, click Settings.
  2. In the Auto Time-Step Settings dialog, click the Injectors tab and set the following properties:
    Period Time Step
    After Injection 13.0 degCA 2.0E-6
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click Apply, then Close.
  5. Save the simulation .
