Loading an Existing Simulation
You start from an existing simulation file that contains objects and solution data from the tutorial Gasoline Engine: Charge Motion.
- use your own version of the simulation file from the Gasoline Engine: Charge Motion tutorial, if you have already worked through it; or,
- use the version from the tutorials files bundle located on the customer success portal.
To obtain the simulation file from the bundle:
- Follow the instructions in Downloading the Tutorial Files from the Support Center Portal.
- After extracting the package to disk, navigate to the inCylinder folder of the downloaded tutorial files and copy the file GasolineEngineChargeMotion_final.sim into your working directory.
- Launch Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
- Select .
- In the Load a File dialog, select an appropriate parallel option and set Compute Processes to at least 16.
- At the bottom of the dialog, click Browse....
- In the Open dialog, navigate to your working directory, select GasolineEngineChargeMotion_final.sim, then click Open.
- In the Load a File dialog, click OK.
- From the top menubar, select .
- In the Clear Generated Meshes dialog, click Yes.

From the toolbar, click
(Open Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-Cylinder).
- In Simcenter STAR-CCM+ In-cylinder, click Update.
- Select GasolineEngineCombustion.sim. and save the simulation as
