Superposing Motions Reference
Superposing Motions Right-Click Actions
- New
- Creates a new Superposing Motion node that lets you define a superposing rotating or translating motion nested beneath its parent node. A Superposing Motions child node is automatically created beneath. Right-clicking this child node lets you define a further superposing motion, and so forth. You may nest up to eight layers of superposed motions.
Superposing Rotation Properties
You define a superposing rotating motion that rotates about a specified axis. The superposing rotating motion is associated with a region.
- Axis Direction
- The vector that specifies the direction of the axis.
- Axis Origin
- The vector that defines the origin of the axis.
- Rotation Rate
- The rate of rotation of the region.
- Coordinate System
- The coordinate system in respect to which Axis Direction and Axis Origin are defined.
- Managed Coordinate Systems
- User-defined local coordinate system that moves according to the user-defined superposed motion. Can be used to define a nested superposed rotation that uses this coordinate system as a reference for the parent motion.
Superposing Translation Properties
You define a superposing translating motion that moves according to the specified translation velocity. The superposing translating motion is associated with a region.
- Translation Velocity
- The translation velocity of the region in the X, Y and Z directions.
- Coordinate System
- The coordinate system with respect to which the translational velocity components are defined.
- Managed Coordinate Systems
- User-defined local coordinate system that moves according to the user-defined superposed motion. The managed coordinate system can be used to define a nested superposed rotation that uses this coordinate system as a reference for the parent motion.
