Electronics Cooling Toolset: Graphics Card Cooling
When you are positioning fans that cool electronic components, the Electronics Cooling Toolset allows you to assess the impact that they have on removing heat. By comparing multiple designs, you can decide which arrangement gives you the best performance.
This tutorial models the same problem as introduced in Multi-Part Solid: Graphics Card Cooling. The geometry consists of a simplified graphics card inside a PC tower case. Two fans drive the flow inside the case to cool the card. In this tutorial, the geometry of the fans is not imported but constructed directly using Axial Fan QuickParts.
The analysis covers the following heat transfer modes:
- Conduction in the solid components of the graphics card and the fans.
- Diffusion and forced convection in the enclosed air.
Simulation results are displayed using the post-processing capabilities that are available in the Electronics Cooling Toolset.
