Importing 2D and 3D Curves from a CSV File
You require an active 3D-CAD session to import a 2D or 3D curve into 3D-CAD. If no session is active, you can create one, or edit an existing 3D-CAD model. Files containing curves must be tabulated in the correct format, with the units of the coordinate points in meters. See Format for Imported Curves.
To import curves:
-
Right-click the
3D-CAD Model node at the top of the model tree and select the appropriate option:
- For 2D curves, select .
- For 3D curves, select .
-
In the
Open dialog, select the
.csv file containing the coordinates of the 2D or 3D curve.
You can import multiple .csv files at the same time. The .csv file can contain multiple 3D curves.
- Click OK.
- In the Import Curve Options dialog, select the desired import options. See Curve Import Options.
- Click OK to import the curve.
2D curves are imported as sketch features and are constrained to the default XY sketch plane. 3D curves are imported as 3DCurve features and are not constrained.
