Curve Import Options
Set the import options to control how 2D or 3D curves are imported from .csv files.
Import as spline | Imports the 2D or 3D curve as a spline. If you intend to use a 3D curve in a 3D-CAD operation (such as Extrude, Loft, and Sweep), select this option. |
Import as polyline | Imports the 2D or 3D curve as a succession of straight lines, using the coordinates as end-points. Note that the resulting polyline does not define a smooth curve. |
Import as Rigid Spline | Imports a 3D curve as a rigid spline. If you intend to import a spline containing a large number of data point, select this option. This reduces the memory required for these large cases as well as reducing the size of the simulation file. |
Close the curve | Closes the imported curve. Useful when the spreadsheet contains an open profile, such as an aerofoil profile, and you want to close this. |
Coordinate System | Specifies the coordinate system in which the points are defined. This option only applies to 3D curves. Currently only Cartesian and Cylindrical coordinates are supported. |
