Monitoring Displacement and Time-Step

Reports are created for the displacement of the leaflet and the time-steps. These reports then be monitored during the simulation.

  1. To create the displacement report:
    1. Right-click the Reports node and select New > User > Maximum.
    2. Rename the Maximum 1 node to UMagAtPointProbe.
    3. Select the Reports > UMagAtPointProbe node and set the following properties:
      Properties Values
      Field Function Displacement: Magnitude
      Parts Derived Parts > PointProbe
      Units mm
  2. To create the Time Level Report:
    1. Right-click the Reports node and select New > User > Expression.
    2. Rename the Expression 1 node to TimeLevel.
    3. Select the Reports > TimeLevel node and set Definition to ${TimeLevel}.
  3. Multi-select both the TimeLevel and UMagAtPointProbe nodes.
  4. Right-click one of the selected node and select Create Monitor From Report.
  5. Define the displacement monitor and plot:
    1. Select the Monitors > UMagAtPointProbe Monitor node and set Trigger to Iteration.
    2. Right-click the UMagAtPointProbe Monitor node and select Create Plot from Monitor.
    3. Rename the Plots > UMagAtPointProbe Monitor Plot node to UMagAtPointProbe.
    4. Select the UMagAtPointProbe > Data Series > UMagAtPointProbe Monitor > Symbol Style node and set Shape to ╳ Cross.
  6. Define the Time Level Plot:
    1. Right-click the Monitors > Physical Time node and select Create Plot from Monitor.
    2. Select the Plots > Physical Time Plot node and set X-Axis Monitor to TimeLevel Monitor.
    3. Select the Physical Time Plot > Data Series > Physical Time > Symbol Style node and set Shape to ╳ Cross.
  7. Save the simulation.
