    - Prerequisites

      To set up the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ simulation, launch a simulation and import the supplied volume mesh.

      One of the solid boundaries must be split into non-contiguous boundaries.

Importing the Mesh and Naming the Simulation

To set up the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ simulation, launch a simulation and import the supplied volume mesh.

Use the following steps:

Launch Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
Start a simulation.
Select File > Import > Import Volume Mesh.
In the Open dialog, navigate to the heatTransferAndRadiation folder of the downloaded tutorial files.
Select insulator.ccm then click Open.
Simcenter STAR-CCM+ provides feedback on the import process in the Output window and two mesh regions are created under the Regions node.
Save the simulation as thermalInsulator.sim.
