Mass Transfer Coefficients
The mass transfer coefficient is found using Sherwood numbers for each phase:
(2062)
where is the species diffusivity within a phase and is the phase interaction length scale.
A single Sherwood number is assumed to apply for the whole phase. The Sherwood number for a dispersed phase or continuous phase can be specified by a constant or by a field function.

The Sherwood number for a continuous phase can also be calculated using a Ranz-Marshall method:
(2063)
where:
- is the phase pair Reynolds Number
- is the Schmidt number
