Reflecting Surface Entities

The Reflect mode reflects the selected entities about a plane with a user-defined normal vector.

The Normal Vector component boxes define a vector normal to the reflection plane. These components are relative to the Reference Coordinate System, which you select from the menu provided.

The Reference Coordinate System menu sets the local coordinate system, with Cartesian, cylindrical, or spherical systems available. The Normal Vector component labels update to reflect the chosen type of coordinate system. The menu lists those systems that were available when you opened the dialog.

Clicking Apply applies the reflection, and records the results in the Output window.

The following example reflects vertices about the X-Z plane of the laboratory coordinate system:

In this instance, the Y-axis is normal to the X-Z plane, so the entry for the Normal Vector is [0, 1, 0]. Clicking Apply results in the following reflection:
